21st. Century Learning Centers are conducting after school programs to serve students kindergarten through high school.
Specific outcomes that sites are seeking to achieve with these programs are:
- To improve student academic achievement, particularly that of students who are low-performing, to meet State and local Learning Results standards and performance indicators in core academic subjects, with a focus on reading and math;
- To offer students a broad array of services, programs and activities to improve their health and well-being; and
- To offer families opportunities for literacy and other related educational development to assist their children with learning and health promotion.
