Tips for Administration Success
- The survey utlizes an Internet Browser, such as Internet Explorer or Netscape. If you are not familiar with using a Browser, please contact your local Technology Professional for instruction prior to beginning the survey.
- Prior to creating your first batch, read all instructions - for both parts: Participation and Administration
- When creating a batch, always create extra logins. For example: when creating a survey batch for 100 students create 110 logins - someone is bound to make an error and want to start again. If the survey-taking time has expired, they will need a new login
- When creating a batch, do not use your browser’s back button. If you have changed your mind, or have made an error you will need to close your browser and begin a new survey batch
- When naming batches, try to name them according to school, role, and date. For example: when creating a survey batch for the middle school students in the fall of 2001, a good title for that batch may be "2001Msstudents"
- When creating a batch and selecting from the nine survey modules, choose only one or two modules per batch. This will keep the survey short. It is important to keep the duration for taking the survey under 45 minutes
- Keep track of all batch numbers you create and the roles they correspond to
- You can delete batches you don’t want, so don’t be afraid to create test survey batches
Encourage Your Survey Takers To:
- Allow 1 hour of uninterrupted time for completion
- To avoid missing any questions, answer the questions in sequential order
- Your survey will be available for 5 hours from your start time. Following any interruption during those 5 hours, you will be able to login again and return to any unanswered questions
- While taking the survey, do not use the browser’s back button. If you have changed your mind, or have made an error you will need to contact your survey administrator
